Justice and Empowerment of Minorities
Published At: Mon 25 Dec 2023
JEM is an autonomous body of jamiat Ulama-i-Hind envisioning to uphold, protect and enforce the human rights of Minorities in India to promote a just society. JEM, established in 2021 as a forum to collate, research and document the increasing cases of Hate Crimes occurring on a daily basis in the country.
A need to make the authorities aware of the changing social fabric of the country, in addition to urging them to take punitive action against the divisive forces, was the driving force behind establishing JEM.
To raise awareness about Hate Crime cases, JEM submits details of the cases to Chief Ministers, local administrations and police officials of different states besides the Union Home Minister.
In addition, JEM provides medical, legal, financial and psychological aid to the Victims of Hate Crimes, JEM also makes its reviews available to the international audience to make them aware of the current situation.
